The American Cancer Society recommends that women begin breast cancer screening at age 40 and have repeat mammograms every year. Women with a mother or sister who had breast cancer should consider yearly mammograms 10 years earlier than the age at which their youngest family member was diagnosed.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment
There are a few tips for you to remember before your appointment, which include to wear a two piece outfit, leave any neck jewelry at home, bring previous mammogram images (if you are seeing a new physician), skip the deodorant for that day, and remember to bring you ID and insurance card.
