Inpatient surgery is generally a planned major surgery and typically requires more than an overnight stay. Examples of Inpatient Services include medical and surgical care, pediatrics, swing bed, transitional and respite care.
Outpatient surgery is generally a planned elective procedure that does not require an overnight stay. You will typically be discharged to your home the same day as your procedure. You might hear it also referred to as day surgery or same-day surgery.
LakeWood Health Center has a multi-disciplinary staff that provides for your needs during your visit. This staff includes surgeons, family practice physicians, a family nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetists, nurses, a pharmacist, and a social worker.
