Hospice

Hospice is a philosophy of care designed to provide support and dignity to terminally ill patients and their families.

Various members of the hospice interdisciplinary team - a team of trained professionals including physicians, nurses, social workers, aides, clergy and volunteers - routinely provide periodic, in-home care.

Services offered to the patient and the family emphasize quality of life, pain control, symptom control, and the dignity of the patient.

Volunteers are an important part of hospice care. LakeWood is fortunate to have a strong, well trained group of volunteers who are very dedicated to their mission to care for the terminally ill.

For more information on the hospice program, including how to become a Hospice Volunteer, please contact LakeWood Nursing Service at (218) 634-1795.
